Estelle Valls de Gomis

Illustrator, writer, publisher, dilettante photographer, bookdesigner and webdesigner, I like many different styles and have many different passions which don't necessarily fit together but fit with my personality.
I'm a traditional artist, self-taught, using traditional media, sometimes lacking technique but never lacking interest in what I do and the will to improve.
My illustration style ranges wide, from Art Nouveau to Vintage Pin-up art, Fantastic and Fantasy art, American Comics, children's books illustrations, Manga.
I've had numerous amateur publications in fanzines (print publications & online) in France and Quebec (Horrifique, Pandemonium, Le Calepin Jaune), and have started to work professionally in 2006, I now have a few little professional publications (at editions Cheminements, Le Calepin Jaune Editions) and more are to come.
As a writer, I've had several books published by various professional publishing houses (two short-story collections of mines, "Le Cabaret Vert" and "Des Roses et des Monstres" at editions Nuit d'Avril, a novel "Les Gentlemen de l'Etrange" at Le Calepin Jaune Editions, "Le Vampire", an essay, at editions Cheminements and also my photography, short-poetry and short-story book "Horizon Motel" - a tribute to Jim Morrison - was issued at Le Calepin Jaune Editions).
I've illustrated several books, alone or with several other artists, for Le Calepin Jaune Editions. My first very own artbook, Le Boudoir aux Végétales, will be published mid-2009 by the wonderful publishing house CDS Editions.
